The Global Coalition for Radiotherapy (GCR) attended the Economist Enterprise 11th Annual World Cancer Series alongside distinguished leaders and organisations from around the globe. We are pleased to share key insights from the conference from some of GCR’s leadership team.

COLLABORATION

Prof Pat Price (GCR Co-Founder and Chair of the Board) moderated the panel “Strengthening radiotherapy across Europe,” and was featured as a speaker at the closing panel. She shared:

“By working together, sharing expertise, advocating for investment, and accelerating the adoption of innovation, we can help ensure that every patient who needs radiotherapy can access it, regardless of where they live.”- Pat Price

INNOVATION TO IMPACT

Habib Nehmé (GCR Industry Leaders Alliance Co-Chair, Senior Advisor for Global Radiotherapy Access) attended the event and identified five key priorities, which he details in this article:

“Representing the Global Coalition for Radiotherapy at The Economist World Cancer Series Europe 2026, I left with one key conviction: Europe's challenge is no longer innovation alone, but translating innovation into equitable patient impact.”- Habib Nehmé

LASTING CONTRIBUTIONS

Darien Laird (GCR Executive Director) participated in the full radiotherapy panel discussing strengthening radiotherapy across Europe. She said:

“It was an honor to join a panel of leaders who are each driving change within their own spheres of influence. My sincere thanks to my fellow panelists, as well as our sponsors and supporters, whose commitment makes it possible to ensure radiotherapy remains part of these important global conversations.” - Darien Laird

It has been inspiring to work with Economist Impact over this past year: at this annual conference, and at London Global Cancer Week where they featured a LGCW roundtable discussion.  Thanks to Susannah Stanway and LGCW for organising that event and Amanda Stucke, lead of The Health Dividend at The Economist Impact, for her article.
