Recognising World Radiotherapy Awareness Day

World Radiotherapy Awareness Day (WRAD) is a day dedicated to uniting together to highlight the essential role of radiotherapy in treating cancer, relieving symptoms, and improving quality of life for patients. At the Global Coalition for Radiotherapy (GCR) we are proud to stand with the global radiotherapy community in recognizing the importance of this movement. We are deeply committed to supporting the individuals and partners who are driving this work forward, and today we would like to highlight and celebrate some of their contributions.
Celebrating the WRAD Committee
A heartfelt thank you goes to the WRAD Committee for their vision and dedication. The work of the committee members has been instrumental in raising visibility and mobilizing support for this important cause. The GCR is proud to support their efforts and stand firmly behind the work they are doing to make an impact.

Featuring Leadership Voices
We are pleased to highlight the voice of our Executive Director, Darien Laird whose recent article was published by our partner, UICC. In the article, she shares the importance of radiotherapy, and the ways GCR is working to improve access and save lives. She recognises the need for advocacy and encourages everyone to participate in WRAD.
“WRAD is about recognition, solidarity, and action. It invites cancer organisations, hospitals, academic centres, professional societies, and industry leaders to raise their voices together.” - Darien Laird

We are grateful to UICC for showcasing her perspective and amplifying her voice for this movement. Read the full article here:
