The Global Coalition for Radiotherapy is proud to participate in Radiotherapy UK’s annual #Miles4Radiotherapy fundraising event! The #Miles4Radiotherapy summer challenge is a great way to set and meet your fitness goals, as well as raise money and awareness for radiotherapy, a treatment that is underfunded in the UK and around the world. The money raised will support the work of Radiotherapy UK:
Supporting and advocating for the radiotherapy workforce
Helping patients understand their treatment and supporting them through it
Campaigning for better, fairer cancer treatment in the UK
The challenge invites everyone to help clock miles and travel together virtually around every radiotherapy treatment center in the UK as many times as possible, to raise awareness about this life-saving treatment. Join our global team and be a part of the effort to shout about radiotherapy!
You can choose how you move: walking, biking, swimming, hiking, horse riding… count all your miles. Register as a solo participant, create a team or join the GCR Global Team! You can do so by searching "Global Coalition for Radiotherapy" when you register.
GCR Director of Communications, Darien Laird, is eager to join for a second year in a row and wants to encourage all global radiotherapy advocates to join.
"It is through the combined efforts of a community of professionals, politicians, advocates and patients that we can make a difference in the world of cancer care,” she says.
