GCR partner COCIR hosts online event to mark International HPV Awareness Day

To mark International HPV Awareness Day, the Global Coalition for Radiotherapy’s partner, COCIR, is hosting an online event on Thursday, March 9, 2023. The event "Towards Eradicating Cervical Cancer" will feature a keynote address by Partha Basu, Head of Early Detection at WHO/IARC, and a panel discussion. Agenda as follows:

International HPV Awareness Day is Saturday, March 4, 2023. The aim of this day is to spread awareness and educate people about this common, but potentially cancer-causing virus. COCIR's special webinar will focus on cervical cancer HPV screening, sometimes referred to as a pap or smear test. According to HPV Awareness Day partners, early identification of HPV and cell changes make it much easier to treat cervical cancer and improve outcomes for patients.
