ecancer Interview Series: The role of the Global Coalition for Radiotherapy in the war in Ukraine

Interview with Prof Pat Price and Dr. Ruslan Zelinskyi, moderated by Prof Richard Sullivan

In support of the WHO Ukraine Cancer Emergency Response and the ECO-ASCO Special Network: Impact of the War in Ukraine on Cancer ecancer commissioned a special set of interviews with some of the key actors in the cancer humanitarian response both within and outside Ukraine. Members of the Radiotherapy Task Force, including GCR Co-Founder Prof Pat Price (Imperial College London, London, UK) and Dr. Ruslan Zelinskyi (Clinic Spizhenko, Kapitanivka, Ukraine) were interviewed by Prof Richard Sullivan (Kings College London, London, UK).

According to ecancer, the series of interviews are being collected to record on-the-ground experiences and share “living witness and testament to the extraordinary work of doctors, patient organisations, professional groups and UN agencies.”

During the interview, Prof Price details the flexibility of the Global Coalition for Radiotherapy and ability to reach a large network of global colleagues to support Ukraine. Dr. Zelinskyi gives a first hand assessment of the current situation and radiotherapy capacity in Ukraine.
